So I have a new camera, and I’m teaching myself how to use it. So far I’m impressed with myself as a teacher, despite a few initial setbacks (for example, I realized that the cord I had been trying to use to connect my camera to my computer was, in fact, a cell phone charger). I’m particularly enamored of the close-up function, which seems to work much better on this camera than it did on my previous camera, and so yesterday I headed down to the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago to practice shooting flowers.
Mostly I just took pictures of bizarre plant names. Are we surprised by this?

Yet another camera? I hope it serves as well or better than its countless ancestors.
I think I make up for my bad camera luck with my extremely good every-other-electronic-device luck. Phone and computer still going strong!
I like the sound of ‘Yesterday, today & tomorrow’. Now that’s poetic!
Right? Where do I sign up to start naming some plants?
