Places: Jerusalem, looking up

I’m one of those people who normally stares at the ground when I walk because a.) I’ve learned that if I do not directly look at something and acknowledge its presence in my walking path, I will trip over it, and b.) I’m really awkward when I make eye-contact with strangers.

Lately I’ve been forcing myself to look around more, especially when traveling, and especially when I have a guide showing me around, thereby freeing me of any obligation to actually know where I’m going. Here are a few recent pictures from a day spent walking through Jerusalem, forcing myself to actually look up.
