I have a cat, work seasonally as a travel consultant in Chicago, freelance for Rail Europe and am the Marketing Coordinator for Vagabundo Magazine. Instead of the whole “quitting my 9 to 5 job and becoming a full time nomad” thing, I like to travel a few times per year because I like that contrast of home versus travel, and I love the feeling of being an outsider in a new place. I also creep on David Sedaris to a level that is probably at least somewhat illegal.
Critical acclaim:
“Jackie = pretty cool person with a lot of books.” -Katie S, friend
“You eat donuts faster than anyone I have ever seen.” -Allison B, roommate
“You look like the owl from the Tootsie Pop commercials.” -Nikki D, sister
“Not an instant winner.” -Diet Coke bottle cap, prophecy
“Jackie is the type of upstanding citizen I would want to only moderately injure with a flying kneestrike.” – Amine M, acquaintance
“Jackie, you’ve gotta be in my top 3 or 4 people I enjoy Facebook-chatting with.” James W, Facebook friend

I love your attitude and personality. I’m also trying to improve my geography knowledge (little by little).
Enjoyed what little I have seen so far! Look forward to reading more!
I like what you say about not being a full-time nomad… I feel the same, and I think a lot of travellers out there think they have to do it full time in order to be legit! I disagree! I am a full time student, and I’ve lived in Canada, Mexico, Denmark, Spain and England, and I’ve been to over 30 countries. It can be done, and you don’t have to sacrifice seeing family and having a home just to travel! Although, I do admit, there’s nothing like being on the road for a few months at a time…

Thanks everyone! Colleen I’m glad there’s someone else out there on the same page. We are legit if I say so. And I do. And so does my cat.
I love your ‘about me’ description… very cool! Also I’m extremely jealous you met David Sedaris, his books are so hilarious.
